Senior Programs

Our Senior programming is designed to keep our older students engaged and learning.  Our Senior Students participate in Instrument Specific Senior Ensembles and Senior Enrichment Workshops, perform in Outreach events in the community and have the opportunity to participate in a Senior Solo Recital every May.

Senior students in grade 11 and 12 are eligible to apply for the Emily Mahoney Scholarship.

Summer Programs

Our Summer Camp for 5 to 13 year olds runs for one week every summer.  Summer Camp is the time to keep musicianship skills fresh, learn new things, have fun and make memories with friends old and new.  All students who have had one or more years of music instruction with the Suzuki method are welcome to register.

During Camp week we also run a Summer Headstart class for 3 to 4 year olds with 50 minute parent and child classes once per day.

Headstart

Headstart is a special class for preschoolers and their parents. Headstart introduces children and their families to Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s music teaching philosophy – Every Child Can!

Our Headstart class introduces young children to basic music concepts in a fun and playful manner.  The children have the chance to see, listen to and touch the musical instruments we teach at our school.

Your Headstart teacher is trained in preschool music and movement and teaches viola and violin.

Suzuki Early Childhood Education

This program is for parents and their children as old as 3 years old, and as young as prenatal. It is designed to prepare younger children and their parents for entry into the Headstart program (ages 2.5 to 5). Children aged 2.5 to 3 can be placed in either the ECE program or the Headstart program, at the discretion of the teachers and parents.

“Never hurry, never rest. Without stopping, without haste, carefully taking one step at a time will surely get you there.”
